Staying Healthy When Living In Bangkok

Living in Bangkok, or any other big city for that matter, can take a toll on your health, but there are things that you can do to counter this. If you live in the Big Mango and lead a busy life, it can be hard to motivate yourself to take care of your health by eating healthily and exercising enough, and you are not alone if feeling a lack of motivation. Below is some advice that you can follow, which will help you to take the time to make a difference in your life and become much healthier when living in Bangkok.

Eating A Healthy Diet

One thing about living in a big city is that there is so much food available that can be delivered to your door, or that is on your doorstep and easy to access, that it can be hard to eat healthily. However, many restaurants are using their initiative and creating healthy menus for their customers who are keen to lead a healthy lifestyle. You can have delicious and healthy food that will have your tastebuds dancing for joy, and there are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available. With so many ways to deliver food now, there is no excuse for choosing the unhealthy and lazy option anymore, and a healthy diet does not have to be boring.

Seeing Your Doctor Regularly

The health care system in Thailand for foreigners is excellent, even though you have to pay for the service, but no matter what the problem is you can see a doctor about it any time of the day or night. You can get a check-up in Bangkok without an appointment just by walking into a hospital or doctors clinic, and they can do a wide variety of different tests and have the results for you in hours, unlike some countries in the west which can take weeks. Visit your doctor regularly and build up a rapport with them, and they can help you stay healthy for many years to come.

Exercise Regularly

When you live in a large city that is so busy and is loud and polluted, it can be hard to motivate yourself to get out and exercise. However, there are plenty of alternatives to going jogging down the uneven streets, which are often more like markets than pavements. There are many green spaces such as Lumpini Park, which are ideal for exercise. You also find that many condo buildings and housing estates also have exercise areas and equipment that you can use free of charge. You can also travel outside of Bangkok and go to places such as Suvarnabhumi Airport, which has a cycling track going around it and is an excellent place to exercise. No matter where you live we all need to take better care of ourselves and get out of our bad habits, and with a little motivation, research, and patience, you can make a significant change to your life.
